Sydney Royal Show Wrap Up

Posted by Sharlene Smith on Thursday, April 9, 2015, In : Show Results
Jess was super excited to be riding at Sydney Royal Show for the first time.  Such an honor to be accepted to ride in the Junior Classes this year with big nominations.

It was a very wet start to the show with jumping being postponed on day one and all the classes being condensed into a three day program.  Big thanks to the Show Society for managing to reschedule it all so the kids did not miss out.

Jess rode beautifully in all her classes, Colin was a little off form but saved his best to last...

Well the jumping at the Sydney Royal Show is as usual second to none.  Light gear excellent surface creates top class jumping.

We are halfway through the show and the horses have been just wonderful.

Copabella Tattiana won the 2nd Section 3 Class with a very slick double clear in a cracking jump off class.  Guru has been on form with a 3rd Place in his first Section 2 Class and a 4th Place yesterday.  Delialh has handled the atmosphere wonderfully and jumped super in her first two FEI ** Classe...

Tamworth Indoor Champs 2015

Posted by Sharlene Smith on Monday, February 16, 2015, In : Show Results
What a great way to start the year off.  For our first show of the season we chose to take the trip down to Tamworth.  The NNWSJC run an excellent event at the spectacular venue AELEC and we thought it would be a great chance for all the horses to have some experience at this venue prior to the World Cup Show being run there later in the season.

Graeme Wattts built testing tracks which brought the best out in all the horses and made use of the wonderful large indoor arena.

Jessie had a super sh...

We had a great show again at Wodonga.  Sad that it will be the last time at this venue as we have always enjoyed it there.  Though the Indoor Jumping this year was not at its best with some very average tracks to jump.  Our team was super with Alite winning a Class Indoors.  Clem & Kartoon de Breve were 4th in the Len & Betty McVean and also won the 1.35m Indoors with Guru being 3rd.  Delilah was 2nd in the Mini Prix.  Jess was 3rd in the Junior Champs with Belcam Cosmic and 6th with Limo. ...

This show just grows and grows so much effort is put in by the hardworking committee and they should be congratulated for all their efforts.  Such a feat to organise so many horses, riders, trade stall etc etc.

We were so happy with our team again.  Clem was a member of the Queensland State Team who were short of a bit luck and finished in 3rd place.  Delilah jumped her socks off with a win in the 1.35m Class on Day Two and also a 5th place on Day One.  She was also 7th place in the Australi...

We really enjoyed going back to Boneo again.  Such a wonderful venue always striving to improve.  It was a perfect stop over prior to the Aus Champs.

Tattiana was her ever consistent self winning the Speed Championships.  We opted to give Kartoon de Breve a weekend off after his super efforts at Adelaide.  Jess jumped a super clear in the Young Riders Champs.  Alite had her first Mini Prix class only having a green rail, could not be happier with this mare.

Jess & Belcam Cosmic had a super win in the Junior Six Bar in very wet conditions.  She was rapt to win a very pretty pink rug.

The horses all performed very well at the Gatton World Cup Show.  Classes were large and ribbons hard to come by.  Kartoon de Breve was 5th in the 1.45m Class and then was unlucky to have one down in the World Cup Class.  Kenny is such a super performer.  Guru had two down in the World Cup both from jumping in a little too big into the combinations.

First time we have come down for this show, this year it fitted in perfectly with the school holidays and the breakers.  We have a team of 8 jumpers with us.  The weather wasn't as cold as predicted really lovely days.  The surface was quite slippery on the first day but improved as the show went on.  Things are really organised here and the committee should be congratulated.  All our team performed very well.  The highlight being Jessie winning her first every Junior Championship with Croftl...

2013 Equestrian Qld State Showjumping Titles

Posted by Sharlene Smith on Saturday, May 18, 2013, In : Show Results
Gympie Show hosted the 2013 Qld State Showjumping Championships.    This Ag Show offers  the highest prize money of any ag show in our State and probably the Country.  It is a credit to the Committee & Town for getting behind their show.  Certainly a very rewarding show if you get in the line ups.  John Warren runs an efficient ring and it is always a pleasure to go back each year, also they have the best bar none stable facilities at the cheapest price.  We were very happy with our team.  Co...

Firstly a big thanks to Judy Jackson for your help and company.  We only took 6 horses away which made for an easy time.  Jessie and Croflea Merry Dance went from strengh to strength at Goondi they had two 5th placings as well as a super double clear in the Junior Championships, Taroom they won two classes and then at Roma jumping a perfect clear round in the Qld Junior Country Champs then...

Toowoomba Royal Show 2013

Our horses all perfomed very well at Toowoomba.  David Finch and the Show Committee put together a great program with top prize money which is very much appreciated.  Unfortunatley this year the ground was on the hard side a side effect to the grounds being used for everything from ag shows to motorbikes.  Kartoon de Breve jumped super for a great 2nd place in the Grand Prix which was a 1.45 m first round and 1.50 in the second he jumped double clear, Paula Hamood won on Nero in a slightly qu...

We had another fabulous show again at the Tamworth Indoor Championships 2013.  These facilities are second to none and an absolute pleasure every year to compete at.  The North North West Showjumping Club put up a great program to suit all levels.  The jumping in the main arena attracted a lot of the Top horses and riders from both Qld and NSW and nearly becomes a State of Origin type competition, lots of fun and very compettive jumping.  Jessie & Croftea Merry Dance placed 4th in the Junior ...

With all the wet weather in Queensland we opted to head across the border to get some competition jumping in.  Clem has not been to Armidale since they held a World Cup there some 19 years ago.  Brock Harvey and the local jump club get behind the show and have a great set of jumps and super program on offer.  We got in one day of jumping which was great even considering how muddy it was not a single horse slipped or fell.  It was a shame the rain set in on Friday Night.   We were rapt with ou...

Sorry on the delay - a very long trip home but all went well the horses travelled home well in the new trailer.  Day 3 at Sale was another good day for the team.  Alina jumped another clear round in the 1m Championships, she has come a long way and is a jumper.  Jessie & Just a Touch finished just out of the places in the same class they had an excellent show.  Vidori had a time fault in the 1.15m Championships but that may have been a blessing the jump off was the fastest of the show.  Tatti...

Laidley Show

Posted by Sharlene Smith on Saturday, July 9, 2011, In : Show Results
Jess had a successful day at Laidley Show yesterday.  She took Johnny and Ace and jumped in three classes with no rails down.  Johnny was 2nd in the 75cm, Ace 2nd in the 90cm, Johnny double clear in the 90cm and also double clear in the 1.05cm.  It was good to see the jump ring moved to the softer corner of the show ring, little close to the side shows but definately a better jumping surface.

Queensland State Junior Titles

Posted by Sharlene Smith on Sunday, June 5, 2011, In : Show Results

Well what a big step up for Jess.  She talked us into letting her start in the Junior State Titles Class and at just 12 we weren't too sure if she was ready.  But ready she was jumping only one of the eleven clears, she rode Just a Touch to perfection.  They had a tall vertical down in the jump off and finished in 8th place.  It was very exciting and both Clem and I were very proud.  Thanks should go to Johnny Tucker for letting Jess ride his super little horse.  The class was won by Emily Pa...

Day 1 Qld State Showjumping Titles Bundaberg

Posted by Sharlene Smith on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, In : Show Results

Bundy Show has had a huge facelift with a brand new set of jumps made by Evan Skeels. They were really nice to jump and quite careful too.

The horses were super today with Vidori jumping double clear in the foxhunter but way off the pace it was won by Jamie Raymont on John Tuckers black horse (forgot it's name).  The 1.10m D Grade with a 1.25m jump off was a pretty tough affair which was won by Matt Whalley from Jamie again on the black horse ?.  Vidori jumped a lovely clear in the first with ...

Boonah Show

Posted by Sharlene Smith on Sunday, May 22, 2011, In : Show Results
We took four horses down to Boonah Show today.  Jessie & Just a Touch jumped double clear in the 90cm Sweepstakes, then jumped in the Open Junior.  It was 1.05m to 1.10m and they jumped clean in the first and then had one down in the jump off.  Paul Raymont (Course Builder) advised after the class that two fences were just under a 1.20m, this was a great effort for Jess.  Guru was 5th in the C & D Championships.  Noble Eros placed 2nd in the 1.30m behind Fairview Maestro and Guru was third.  ...

Western Qld Championships - Roma Show

No doubt about it - the best jumping surface in Queensland.  A big thanks to Ray, Rhonda, Lyle and Ben Waldron for putting on a great show.  Not many shows you go to have the same man that makes sure your stables are full of fresh sawdust, raises super sponsorship, prepares excellent grounds and picks up rails all weekend - they broke the mould when they made Ray.  We had an excellent show.  Florina won the hat trick, 1.35m, 1.40m and the Grand Prix.  Darky placed second in the GPrix which Wa...

Sydney Royal Show Wrap Up

Posted by Sharlene Smith on Thursday, April 21, 2011, In : Show Results

We had a wonderful show.  Florina finished with three fourth placings and a second.  She jumped one of only four clears in the mini prix but unfortunately had the last fence putting her in fourth place.  She just missed out on Section Two horse of the Show.  Darky jumped very well considering he had only been in work a short period of time.  He had two fences down in the World Cup and Clem opted to turn a circle down a line due to a not so good distance.  The grounds were certainly not at the...
